In the Kiln

In the Kiln-lite, originally uploaded by JesseGuz.

This is what the ceramics look like inside the kiln. You can actually see the glaze melting.

The Lake House

The Lake House-lite, originally uploaded by JesseGuz.

This is the Lake House on Port Huron. My Dad bought this place back in the early '90s, and it was in pretty rough shape. He and I (along with crews of dudes) took to working on it during the summers and weekends. I personally cleaned the outside brick with power washers and corrosive chemicals. Now, it is almost fully restored with beautiful features inside. Liz and I are going to try to make some ceramics for the kitchen.

Hideaki Miyamura AIC

Hideaki Miyamura AIC-lite, originally uploaded by JesseGuz.

This bottle is actually the main reason Liz and I wanted to go to the AIC. We've both been there multiple times, but we hadn't seen this piece. Miyamura is one of a few ceramic artists who have been trying to recreate a glaze from the Japanese historical collection. Check him out if you get a chance.
