First Day Dust Storm

{I've decided to stop with the camera settings. If anyone really cares to find out you can go to my Flickr site, it has it all linked. I'm slowly catching up. I know the whole point of a daily blog is to put up one post a day, not like 2 or 3 at a time, but I'm doing my best. It's been tough lately because I haven't really gone on a trip in a while which is when I get a good dose of images to work from.

I have really been missing Burningman lately so I thought I'd post some back pictures.}

Escher Mural

{13mm; 1/125s; f/3.5; ISO200; 2/14/10: Another from Clarion, I like all the distortion and spookiness of it.}

Thursday, February 25

A Man and His Birds

{12mm; 1/125s; f/3.5; ISO200; 2/14/10: Another picture from Clarion St.}

Wednesday, February 24

Sunny City

{12mm(1.6x); 1/250; f/7.1; ISO100; 2/20/10: I accidentally had the exposure adjust set to -1eV, doh! This is a shot where the wide angle really shines.}

Tuesday, February 23

La Loma Market #14

{11mm (1.6x); 1/250s; f/6.3; ISO100; 2/14/10: Liz and I typically buy our produce from La Loma #1 (we think), so it's kinda cool to see the rest of the City chain. I'm generally against chains, but local chains (is there such a thing) seem to be a bit different.}

Monday, February 22

Kitty in the Window and I Wanna Touch It

{14mm; 1/100s; f/4.0; ISO200; 2/13/10: This is one of mine and Liz's favorite book shops in the Castro near Market on Church. Chow is just a couple of blocks.}

Sunday, February 21

City Hills

Saturday, February 20

Polarized Film

{16mm (x1.6); 1/125s; f/4.0; ISO200; 2/11/10: Sometimes you see this chromatic change on windows with tinting when using a polarizer. It's kinda weird. You may notice the x1.6 at the beginning, this is something I'm going to add so people can figure out the 35mm equiv. if they want.}

Friday, February 19

Sensory Overload

{13mm; 1/100s; f/3.5; ISO200; 2/14/10: I love the point of view of this one.}

Thursday, February 18

Spidey's Goin for a Ride

{15mm; 1/60s; f/6.3; ISO200; 2/14/10: Ridin' in style.}

Wednesday, February 17

Bernal Near Sunset

{16mm; 1/60s; f/4.5; ISO100; 2/13/10: On our way to The Front Porch (great Louisiana joint), I had to stop to take a picture of Bernal poking up over the buildings.}

Tuesday, February 16

The Mob

{11mm; 1/250s; f/3.5; ISO200; 2/14/10: On Sunday Liz went down to Valencia and walked down Clarion St. again, so I had a chance to finish shooting it.}

Monday, February 15

Two Munis Passing in the Bright

{15mm; 1/40s; f/5.0; ISO100; 2/13/10: Liz and I went for a bike ride this weekend. I'm not sure if I got the blur just because of how fast the bus was moving, or if the wide angle let me get a slower shutter, but I like the contrast.}

Sunday, February 14

The Original Flea Circus

{50mm; 1/60s; f/2.5; ISO200; 2/6/10: Taken at the book fair. There was lots of interesting non-book things. I can't wait to take a ferry ride to Salsalito to try something with an old photograph I found.}

Saturday, February 13

Cooling Towers and Clouds

{16mm; 1/320s; f/8.0; ISO200; 2/9/10: So, I work in industrial America. Well, maybe industrial California, but I'm not too sure that is completely different elsewhere. Big building that do things you may or may not fully understand. Steam spewing from various towers. That kind of thing. I have been wanting to do a series with this ultra wide lens I have of huge industrial buildings around my work and elsewhere. This is the first, and who knows when I'll get the second.}

Friday, February 12

Arumi Singh

{50mm; 1/50s; f/2.5; ISO800; 2/6/10: Old posters from various fights, shows, etc. It is blurry which angers me, but alas, there is nothing that can be done.}

Thursday, February 11

Carts of Pain

{50mm; 1/125s; f/8.0; ISO100; 2/6/10: Yesterday, I got a parking ticket for $75! This is just rediculus. You wonder why SF is so damn expensive to live in and why so many non-white people are moving away? How about start with the f-off expensive parking tickets. I mean seriously the cheapest one you can get is something like $44 for street cleaning. For which they don't even clean the streets (I've seen it wrt my glass window getting shattered).}

Wednesday, February 10

Paper Fountain

{50mm; 1/100s; f/3.2; ISO800; 2/6/10: It was nice to see this guys selection of diarama/popup pieces from the 1800s. I did a couple of these last year as well (here).}

Tuesday, February 9

Marijuana Girl

{50mm; 1/40s; f/4.5; ISO800; 2/6/10: What a slut.}

Monday, February 8

No Dog Shit

{50mm;~1/80s; ~f/2.0; ISO100; 2/6/10: On the way to the book fair we came across these couple of gems. Every city has a shit problem wrt to dogs (and people). Some local businesses took the initiative to display a sign in the dirt around the trees in a vain attempt to stop the practice. Indeed the planter around the sign was clean of shit, however, two trees away (and for two more consecutive trees) we found some nice big piles.}

Sunday, February 7

DPT - Good People, Tough Jobs

{50mm; 1/4000s; f/1.8; ISO100; 2/6/10: Taken on the way to the Book Fair.}

Saturday, February 6

The Magic of Teddy Bears

{50mm; 1/250s; f/2.2; ISO100; 2/6/10: Liz and I returned to the Antiquarian Book Fair this weekend too look for some deals. I think I walked away with a couple of great expensive books that were way less than they are worth (mostly because the older dudes liked Liz).}

Friday, February 5

Fixin' Up the House

{11mm; 1/450s; f/4.5; ISO200; 1/26/10: I just like how there is no way to access the front door. I wonder what it will look like when it is all done.}

Thursday, February 4

Skulls with Headress

{16mm; 1/20s; f/2.8; ISO800; 12/26/09: Take in the De Young Museum.}

Wednesday, February 3

Satori Movement

{16mm; 1/50s; f/5.6; ISO100; 1/31/10: I have no idea what the Satori movement is, or what it is all about but I thought the colors were nice.}

Tuesday, February 2

Men at Work

{15mm; 1/125s; f/5.6; ISO100; 1/30/10: I think the square grid is cool. The welder was standing on top of the ladder fixing something, and I really wanted that picture, but such is street photography.}

Monday, February 1

Glen Park School Playground

{13mm; 1/125s; f/4.5; ISO100; 1/31/10: Taken through the fence looking out over the the bay in the background.}
